Yes. TEKOTE is a fragrance-free formulation, with no added fragrance of any kind — synthetic or natural essential oil.

You may notice the quiet, natural scent of the raw ingredients themselves, but nothing has been included in order to add scent.

We did not choose fragrance free because we dislike fragrance.

We chose it so that the people who wear perfume they love, who work with the aromas of food, coffee, tea or wine, and who work in medicine, care, childcare or hospitality where scent must be considered, can all use it without hesitation.

TEKOTE is not here to leave an impression through scent. It is here to quietly support the person using it, and the room they are in.

For us, fragrance free is not about adding nothing. It is a choice made out of respect for the wearer and for the air around them.

The five TEKOTE products are not fixed to particular uses.

Choose the way you would reach for a seasoning: by the state of your hair and skin that day, the season, your mood, the finish you want.

Because all five are multi-purpose care for hair, skin and hands, you can work by feel — lighter today, richer today, a little more shine today.

As a rough guide:

• Smooth: a light, natural veil. The standard, easy to reach for every day.
• Rich: for dryness, and for a more nourished feel on hair and body.
• Milky Lotion: fresh and easy to spread, for light moisture on hair and skin alike.
• Komenuka Oil: for natural shine and softness. A little goes a long way.
• Balm Matte: for definition and hold, with a matte, natural finish.

There is no single best one. The range exists so you can enjoy different textures and different feels.

Many people switch with the seasons, or combine — Smooth on the hands and Balm Matte on the ends; Milky Lotion and Komenuka Oil on the skin; Rich and Komenuka Oil in the hair.

TEKOTE was developed with the whole household in mind.

Because it contains no fragrance and keeps to a simple formulation, many families share a single product between them.

Babies and small children have very delicate skin, so please start with a small amount and check that the skin reacts well before continuing.

We have also kept dog owners in mind. The formula is designed so that you can use it on your own hands or hair and then go straight to your dog.

That said, TEKOTE is a care product for people. It has not been through the safety assessment required of a pet product, so we do not actively recommend applying it directly to dogs.

Cats and small animals can struggle to metabolise plant-derived ingredients and oils, so please do not apply it to them directly.

Rather than the heavy tackiness of a typical styling product, each item has its own texture, chosen so that it settles naturally.

Balm Matte, for example, gives hair definition and movement, while whatever remains on your hands can go straight onto skin, lips, or anywhere that dries out.

Smooth and Rice Bran Oil are lighter; Rich is more nourishing; Milky Lotion is fresher. Each has a texture of its own.
