TEKOTE Valentine Workshop
Botanical Candle Workshop
Create・Admire・Illuminate・Nurture
This winter, TEKOTE PLACE will be holding a
botanical candle workshop where you can enjoy the expressions of plants and the flickering of flames.
In daylight, the gentle appearance of flowers arranged side by side.
When lit in the dark,
the silhouettes of plants quietly emerge.
A candle whose melting changes little by little with each use,
and whose expression changes.
Why not incorporate into your daily life a time that begins with "creating"
and continues to "illuminating, admiring, and nurturing"?
Workshop Details
From a variety of botanical materials,
you can choose your favorite flowers,
design them in a special mold,
and create your own original candle.
Finally, the wax is poured in, and you will experience the process of creation,
including the time it takes for it to slowly solidify.
*It takes about 3 hours to solidify
(Pick up is 3 hours later or on another day)
This workshop is not just a special experience;
it's a time to propose "**light and arrangement that continues into everyday life**."
Instructor Introduction
KEN
As a child, he suffered from a heart condition
and couldn't move his body as he wished.
For him,
the flickering of flames gradually became
a quiet source of healing for his heart.
The fire in the fireplace, campfires,
and the Christmas candles his mother decorated.
Memories enveloped in that light remain in his heart
as a pristine landscape of peace
that only visits on "special days."
As he grew up and worked as an employee at an educational publishing company,
he fell ill, which led to another "time to pause."
At that moment, what emerged from the depths of his heart
was the desire to touch candles.
His involvement in his family's workshop salon
and his start in creating botanical candles
using dried flowers is the origin of his current activities.
In a bright place, the gentle appearance of flowers arranged side by side.
When lit, they sink into the flame,
and the silhouettes of plants quietly emerge.
He shapes that momentary flicker
into a light that accompanies daily life.
