This is my grumbling, as I idly watched from the sidelines.
Yui-chan(Designer of AU CLAIR DE LA LUNE) and Tet-chan(Founder of TEKOTE) are old friends.
They met in Paris when they were young. Yui-chan flew to Paris to study fashion, and Tet-chan flew to Paris aiming to be a hairstylist, each with their own dreams.
I'm sure they had many experiences, absorbed a lot, were knocked down, and had a full and vibrant youth.
I watched from a distance as they, having grown older, walked together through "work" in Japan.
Yui-chan's brand, AU CLAIR DE LA LUNE, is a baby and kids clothing brand. While selecting unique print patterns, the designs are sophisticated, and if a slightly precocious boy or a prim girl were to wear them, their hearts would surely be tickled. I believe there are clothes that only suit children due to their body type and silhouette. Such "now-or-never specials" are packed into every detail.
Even though I knew that, I, being stubborn, still tried holding children's clothes up to my body, thinking, "I want to wear this!"…
This time, we also held a workshop where participants could choose a motif with a stencil and create an original placemat. It was a time to choose ink colors, tap hands, and watch shapes emerge. It became a heartwarming project that parents and children could enjoy together.
I don't know about their youth.
But I felt that there was something invisible there, a definite connection.
The sight and time of them discussing how to build this event together
shone beautifully.
That's how I thought people connect.
I want to spread more opportunities for these kinds of connections to be born from here.
