- TEKOTE WORK SHOP -「粘土科学研究所」

This past January, TEKOTE held its first workshop at its event space.
The theme was the natural clay, "Montmorillonite."

Our instructor was Mr. Taira Tezuka, representative of "Nendo Kagaku Kenkyujo" (Clay Science Research Institute), the manufacturer of TEKOTE MULTI CLAY RICH and TEKOTE MULTI CLAY SMOOTH.

Through the simple experience of "creating a one-of-a-kind body cream," he provided an opportunity to delve into the essence of clay as a material.

What exactly is montmorillonite?
Why is it used on the skin?
What ingredients are mixed to create a body cream?

Instead of passively receiving knowledge, participants actively engaged their hands to grasp understanding through their own senses.
Adding water and hyaluronic acid to the clay and observing its gradual transformation was a process that felt somewhat primal and exciting.

This workshop
teaches the importance of learning about things we thought we knew, but didn't, such as
"what we put on our skin."

How can montmorillonite be incorporated into daily care, not as something special, but as an everyday item?
I believe this approach to exploring that "distance" was enjoyable for both children and adults.

Above all, Mr. Tezuka's talk was excellent.
It was specialized yet easy to understand, with a touch of humor.

For more details, we encourage you to experience it at the next session.

By the way, I think there's no longer any need to explain the power of clay once you've seen Mr. Tezuka's skin.
